LG Week 15

So we will officially be 15 weeks on Sunday, March 25! I've definitely started to feel more pregnant! My belly is also starting to pop. I've not told my students yet, but one of them is noticing my thickening waist line :) He gave me a hug and said, "I'm gonna pop your belly, Mrs. Garety!" It was ADORABLE! I can't wait to tell my kiddos. I'm thinking I will try to wait until we know what we are having (which will happen as early as April 17 pending LG's cooperative skills).

Mark is really great (and funny). He asks me about 5 times after dinner if I've taken my vitamin and baby aspirin. He also feels the need to ask me if I have to pee in the morning before he goes into the bathroom or if I'm cold when he comes to bed. I goof on him, but I do appreciate the love and attention he's showing me and LG.

At week 15, LG is about 4.5 inches long now. I can't wait to feel LG moving around all the time :)

Introducing LG

I figured I would update you all on how everything is going with our baby, LG (stands for Little Garety).

We found out about our LG on January 5. We were SUPER excited! Our 8 week mark was Superbowl Sunday. We were at a party and I started having lower back pain. It felt very similar to how my back felt when I lost Baby G. We were both REALLY nervous and decided to go to the hospital to make sure everything was okay. They didn't do an ultrasound (which is another story) but recommended that we call my doctor the next day. I did and they brought us in for an ultrasound the next day. LG was absolutely perfect :)

At 9 weeks we had our first scheduled appointment. We had another ultrasound and again, LG was perfect :)

At 10 weeks we had our first appointment with the high-risk pregnancy doctor. He did another ultrasound and, again, LG was perfect. We got to see him/her do a little baby crunch.

At 13 weeks we had our second scheduled appointment. They planned to use a doppler (handheld device used to listen to baby's heartbeat). They used the doppler but couldn't find the heartbeat. We were freaking out. They took me straight in to get another ultrasound. It was the scariest 3 minutes I've ever had! When LG got on the screen, he/she was just moving around like crazy with a heartbeat of 159 :) He/She was moving hands and legs and even clenching and unclenching their fist. It was incredibly cool and we got a couple of really neat photos.

I've been feeling REALLY well! Even during the first trimester, I was feeling pretty well. I feel truly blessed!

Today we are 14 weeks along :)

Along with the GREAT news of LG, we've also experienced some other blessings from above. Mark got hired directly with Caterpillar and will no longer be a contract employee as of April 2! He is really excited and I am so proud of him. We are looking into buying a house (after we refigure our new budget). We are also looking into the possibility of me staying at home once the baby is born. I've always wanted to have the opportunity to stay home with my children. It's also been Mark's desire to have me be able to stay at home, too. I feel blessed that we even get to consider this option!

2012 is shaping up to be quite a phenomenal year for the Illinois Garetys!

March 12, 2012

Dear Baby G,

This was the day that you could have made your appearance. I still wonder what you would have looked like: hair, nose, cheeks, eyes.

I miss you, love you, and think about you everyday. I really don't think that will ever change. You will always be my first baby.

I hope that Jesus gives you extra hugs and love today. I pray that he gives you one from me and your dad. We love you SO very much! Fly high with the angels today :)

Love you for always and forever,

Mommy
